  1. What is the expiring date for enrolment to European School Ljubljana?

    Enrolment in the European School Ljubljana will remain open until all available spaces have been filled.

    The European School of Ljubljana is accepting applications for year one primary students that would like to enrol in the 2019/20 school year. In order to be eligible, children must turn no younger than six within the calendar year 2019 (born in 2013).  Enrolment is possible in either the English or Slovenian language sections.

    Enrolment for primary students in years two, three, four, and five will occur after the acquisition of documents that prove eligibility for enrolment in the second or subsequent years of the primary level.

  1. Will European School Ljubljana in school year 2019/20 start only with first year of primary level?

    In school year 2018/19 EŠLj started with P1 and P2 for 6 and 7 years old pupils. In school year 2019/20 EŠLj is starting with all five years of primary level.
  1. What is a timeline of other primary and secondary level years opening?

    In school year 2019/20 EŠLj starts with P3, P4 and P5, in school year 2020/21 with first three years of secondary level (S1, S2 and S3) and in school year 2021/22 with S4 and S5. S6 will start in school year 2022/23 and S7 in school year 2023/24 when a European Baccalaureate will be experienced for the first time.
  1. In what language sections will the subjects be taught?

    Instructions will be held in two language sections, in English and in Slovene language.
  1. What does SWALS stand for? What is the meaning of the acronym SWALS?

    SWALS means Students Without A Language Section. Those are students whose mother tongue or dominant language is neither  English nor Slovene and should be enrolled in the English language section.
  1. Will classes of different language sections be strictly divided?

    Most of the programme is performed separated by language sections but some of the subjects or other activities are held in joint classes.
