Primary Level Discovery of the world

Discovery of the World

As implied by its name, our Discovery of the World curriculum is a time when students can explore and engage with different aspects of the world around them. The curriculum is split into five different subject areas: the biological area, the historical area, the socio-cultural area, the geographical area, and the technological area. Each year level will engage with every subject area each year.

At our school, Discovery of the World is used as the central subject around which the school year is planned.  This allows us to teach cross circularly and engage more deeply with each topic. We also align all of our learning in Discovery of the World across language sections, which allows us to plan school trips and events that are meaningful for all classes.
