SCHOOL POLICIES
AFTER SCHOOL CARE
"The Parent Association of the European School of Ljubljana, the PTA, organises a wide variety of after-school activities, as well as the after-school care for our children at the school premises.
After-school care is provided by professional child-minders every day during term time Monday-Friday in the after school hours.
Various after-school activities also take place in the afternoons, guided by professional activity providers.
All the extracurricular activity providers are selected with utmost care from among the certified professionals experienced in their area of specialization and in working with children.
The multiple after-school activities organised by the European School PTA cover a wide variety of fields and include different sports, foreign languages, science, dance and music, depending on our student demand and the availability of providers.

LIVING IN LJUBLJANA
As the capital and largest city in Slovenia, Ljubljana has attracted many expats from all over the world. With a rich history, even dating back to Roman times, Ljubljana has always been a city of great importance to the region and still acts as the economic, political, educational and cultural centre of the country. Some of the highlights of the city include the Ljubljana castle up on the hill, the Ljubljanica river running through the city and Prešeren square with its prominent pink church. Our European School of Ljubljana is located in the centre of Ljubljana, opening up many possibilities to explore the city during recreational walks and easily visit cultural sites and museums to enrich our in-school learning.
The language spoken in Slovenia is Slovenian, one of the slavic languages, but English is widely spoken in Ljubljana as well.
Housing, whether you will be renting or buying, is available in most of Ljubljana's districts and surrounding municipalities. Ljubljana is a growing city, with modern neighbourhoods added primarily on the outskirts of the city, offering many opportunities for folk new to the area. Many roads lead directly to Ljubljana, so living outside of the city is a great option for those seeking views of the mountains or desire living in an idyllic village.
It is easy to fall in love with Ljubljana's charms, especially since its location allows you to easily travel the whole of Slovenia. Slovenia is known for its mountains, ski resorts and lakes but one mustn't forget its great valleys and picturesque coast, all only an hour away from Ljubljana. Slovenia's demographic as well as climate has a lot to offer all year round, which makes Slovenia a perfect place to live with for you and your family.
